Veneto GIS Database as Input to Action Planning
Unioncamere Veneto has tested a GIS database under H2CE to feed regional action plan design by providing spatial readiness indicators and siting data.
The following steps were taken to fulfill the task:
-
Design of integrated measures (partial): Under Deliverable D.2.1.1, Unioncamere Veneto collected over 2,500 spatial data points for hydrogen “readiness” (land use, infrastructure, energy constraints) to inform where integrated measures (electrolyser hubs, transport corridors) might best be placed. unioncamereveneto.it
-
Conflict check (partial): The GIS work helps identify spatial conflicts (e.g. land availability vs protected areas, grid constraints) to avoid overlap or misplacement of measures. The map layers expose these potential conflicts before committing. unioncamereveneto.it
-
Financial planning (yet to fully emerge): While the GIS deliverable does not itself commit funding, it supports downstream action planning by helping regions prioritise measure locations that are cost-effective (less grid reinforcement, high synergy).
