The H2 Voucher Mechanism produced a practical and transferable support model that helps regions accelerate hydrogen project preparation and strengthen regional innovation capacity.

 

1. Tested Voucher Support Concept

A structured voucher mechanism was developed to finance early-stage hydrogen project activities such as:

• feasibility studies

• technical and economic assessments

• pilot concept development

• project application preparation

• expert advisory support

This creates a practical bridge between project ideas and investment readiness.

 

2. Pilot Validation in the Ústí Region

The mechanism was tested in the Ústí Region, demonstrating how targeted small-scale support can stimulate project pipelines and reduce barriers for local stakeholders.

 

3. Transferable Regional Support Model

The voucher concept proved suitable for adaptation in other regions with different levels of hydrogen maturity. It can support:

• SMEs and start-ups

• municipalities and public bodies
